CompanionBits is run by my daughter Maya and me. Together, we build AutoCAD add-ons for architects, drafting technicians, and engineering firms — and whenever a project is truly close to our hearts, we gladly step outside our comfort zone.
Every drawing has a title block showing who drew it and who reviewed it. For us, it’s no different.
Architect, builds the AutoCAD tools
Practicing architect based in Sint-Truiden. I started with LISP routines to speed up drafting at my office, gradually advancing to C# and .NET (with the help of Maya). Every CompanionBits tool was born out of daily practice: a missing feature or an annoyance, thoroughly field-tested long before anyone else ever saw it.
Software engineer, builds the platform
As a software engineer, I build and maintain the entire technical backbone: this website, user accounts, payments, and the licensing system that binds your tools to your PC. It became my bachelor’s thesis, completed summa cum laude.
A tool is complete when it launches. No half-baked versions tested on customers. Complex under the hood, but clean and straightforward on your side of the screen.
Every tool started with a real-world drafting problem: an unlocked viewport, an outdated legend, or a fire engine that couldn’t make the turn.
Everything our tools create consists of standard AutoCAD objects. A colleague without CompanionBits can open your drawing with zero surprises.
